Sherry McNeil to Head CFA
The industry veteran brings a mix of consulting and executive leadership experience to the job.
The Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) has appointment Sherry McNeil to President & CEO. A long-standing CFA board member, she brings more than 20 years of franchise experience working with both franchisors and franchisees in a variety of categories and brands, including Little Caesars, Boston Pizza, Dairy Queen, and Yum Brands.
“The opportunity that lies ahead for the Canadian Franchise Association is enormous and I’m excited to lead the staff team through the next phase of the association’s development,” McNeil said.
“Having worked with new, emerging, and mature franchise systems, I have a clear understanding of the opportunities and stresses that are faced by franchisors, and how the CFA can be of assistance to our members. I look forward to working with and serving the CFA membership.”
Under McNeil’s leadership, the CFA will ramp up its strategic transformation to serve those in the Canadian franchise community by advocating for franchising, offering the best learning resources, and providing support and growth opportunities. According to the CFA, Canadian franchises contribute over C$99 billion (US$74.75b) annually to the Canadian economy and create jobs for more than 1.8 million Canadians. These local franchises enable 78,000 hardworking Canadians to be their own boss as the owner of their own small business franchise location.
